Today we started a new art project learning how to create 3D paper sculptures as we work towards a bigger project. To begin with they had some skills to achieve to be able to say …
- I can roll paper to make a cylinder.
- I can combine paper cylinders to make a sculpture.
- I can adapt my ideas as I work.
The children had to think about:
- The length of each tube.
- The colours they use and which colours will go next to each other.
- How they arrange the tubes on the base.
- How they will attach tubes to the flat base.
- Cutting bits off the paper to make a more interesting tube shape.
The children then explored rolling paper tubes to make a sculpture. They had a lot of fun and had to work through challenges adapting their ideas as they went. Take a look at these photos to see how well they did …
