
Following our morning walk spotting signs of approaching autumn, we discussed some of the animals we notice more, out in nature during the autumn. The children had lots of ideas and cleverly knew that hedgehogs are nocturnal so we shouldn’t see them out in the day. We learnt how animals store food in autumn in preparation for the cold months of winter.
Then using autumn colours the children used sponges to print spines on pictures of hedgehogs to create their own autumn hedgehog picture.
