This week, the children have been reading the last few chapters of Street Child by Bertie Doherty. We have particularly explored comprehension of the vocabulary and inference of a character’s behaviour. We have also worked on how to make realistic predictions about what might happen next in the plot by using details from the story so far. Today the class were tasked with role playing an imaginary scene that might follow on from what we had just read. They imagined conversations that could happen between characters and thought about how the story might move on. It was exciting to watch their performances as this was quite a challenging activity. The photos show how Maddi, Evelyn, Abigail and Liv brought their prediction of the next chapter to life with dramatic conversations and details. Well done girls!
