All children should have the opportunity to live healthy and active lives. A positive experience of sport and physical activity at a young age can build a lifetime habit of participation.

Physical activity has numerous benefits for children and young people’s physical health, as well as their mental wellbeing (increasing self-esteem and emotional wellbeing and lowering anxiety and depression), and children who are physically active are happier, more resilient and more trusting of their peers. Ensuring that pupils have access to sufficient daily activity can also have wider benefits for pupils and schools, improving behaviour as well as enhancing academic achievement.

Primary PE and Sport Premium is an initiative that aims to help increase and improve the PE and sporting opportunities for children.

Here at Inskip St Peter's we aim is to use the funding effectively to ensure that standards of learning and achievement in PE and Sports are raised, with all children, regardless of their background, engaging in physical activity as part of the curriculum and extra-curricular provision.

Our Grounds

We love our grounds, we are so lucky to have so much space in order to explore, use our imaginations, create friendships, develop our sports skills, discover activities we love and can excel at and become lifelong nature lovers. Look through our photo galleries to see photos of us at play, PE and using our grounds for learning. Whether it be playing tennis or football with friends, shooting a few baskets in basketball, practising netball, rounders or hockey skills, we’ve got lots of room for them all! Our children get daily professional sports coaching at lunchtimes when they’re able to extend the skills they are developing in their PE lessons into fun games and teamwork opportunities. Also look out for photos of us enjoying ourselves using our long jump pit, traversing wall, monkey bars, running track, up and over bars, log climb, high balance beam and ladder walk. We also love playing tig and racing through and round our willow tunnel and den and performing gymnastics and playing on our purpose built stage.
