The Upper School class began a new topic in PE today called Outdoor and Adventurous Activities. This scheme of work will allow the children to participate in lots of outdoor team work and trust games.
They began by working in two teams, in circles. The objective was to manoeuvre a hoop all the way around the circle without letting go of each other. The challenge got harder as the hoop they were given got smaller-they really had to support one another to be first to finish.
Next, we used our three benches for a team challenge where the groups had to stand on the bench and without falling off, move themselves into positions using instructions such as: get in birthday order, height order, alphabetical order…that was lots of fun and quite hard when there were six children on one bench!
