After a recap about gestation periods of mammals and the growth of a human baby inside a mother, the Upper School class were introduced to the stages of human development after birth. We watched some animations of these developments, asked questions and had discussions about their own experiences. Next, the children were given development cards to put into the correct age group categories. New vocabulary was learnt such as the words infancy, dextrous, transition, dependence and the class used these in their written descriptions.
